
The San Antonio Spurs lost 113-101 to the Cleveland Cavaliers on Monday, despite star Victor Wembanyama scoring 26 points and grabbing 14 rebounds for his 10th double-double of the season. Jarrett Allen’s 27 points and 10 rebounds led the Cavaliers to victory, FOX San Antonio reports.
San Antonio trailed Cleveland by eight points in the third quarter and fell further behind in the fourth. According to KENS5, Jaylen Tyson hit consecutive 3-pointers to stretch the Cavaliers’ lead. Coming off an eight-game winning streak, the Spurs were unable to mount a comeback in the final period.
Despite the loss, Stephon Castle and De’Aaron Fox scored 15 and 14 points, respectively, with Fox returning after missing one game due to a left adductor issue. Darius Garland added 15 points and 11 assists for the Cavaliers.
Next, the Spurs host the New York Knicks, and the Cavaliers face the Phoenix Suns. With recent losses behind them, both teams are looking for a turnaround. Jarrett Allen’s 27 points and 10 rebounds highlight his importance to the Cavaliers’ roster.
