On December 25, also known as Christmas Day, residents should to be aware that all solid waste collection services will cease operation. Following the holiday, there will be no residential recycling service on Friday, December 26. The brief interruption in services is a reflection of the city's observance of the festive occasion, allowing workers to spend time with family and friends.
An added bonus for residents and visitors alike during the festivities, parking will be made free on Christmas Day in all city-owned lots and for on-street parking spots. The Historic Downtown Parking Facility joins the list of locations not charging for parking on the national holiday. According to the City of St. Augustine - Government's social media post, be sure to remember that parking fees are still in effect at the Castillo de San Marcos lot.
