The City of St. Augustine's Mobility and Parking Enforcement Division has expanded its Workforce Parking Program just in time for the holiday rush, welcoming workers with a new addition to its parking lineup. Now, those earning their bread in the glow of downtown's Nights of Lights can stake a spot at the Flagler College Parking Garage, known to locals as Flagler Garage. This strategic inclusion will run until January 4, 2026, as stated on the City of St. Augustine's official website.
In a cityscape often bustling with tourists and seasonal events, finding a place to park can mirror a search for treasure. The Flagler Garage, situated on Malaga Street, offers approximately 250 unnumbered spaces, which are up for grabs 24/7 until the stated deadline. Business or individuals can claim a space for $53.25, a finite respite for downtown employees. While the Toques Lot is bursting at its seams, the Granada Lot remains an option for the evening and weekend shifts.
As per the City of St. Augustine's announcement, those interested should not delay in applying. The permits, which are issued on a first-come, first-served basis, require an in-person pickup upon approval. Applications are available online for those tech-savvy workers, or at the City’s Customer Service Department located on Bridge Street, for those who prefer to do things the old-fashioned way.
