The St. Bernard Parish Sheriff's Office post detailed that from Dec. 26 through Dec. 30, fireworks can be legally used from 9 a.m. until 11 p.m. On New Year's Eve, the window extends from 9 a.m. until the early hours of 2 a.m. Following into the New Year, on Jan. 1, the fun continues from 9 a.m. but must wrap up by 10 p.m. Any deviation from this schedule could result in a disturbance of peace citation.
Residents are reminded that pyrotechnic punctuality is key; setting off fireworks outside of the permitted times not only violates local ordinance but could also disrupt the well-being of the parish community.
