In the spirit of the holiday season, St. Johns County has announced a break for several of its public offices. According to a social media post from St. Johns County, residents should take note of the special holiday office hours scheduled for the end of the year. St. Johns County Board of County Commissioners (BCC) offices, inclusive of local libraries and constitutional offices, will take a hiatus from December 24 to December 26 in observance of Christmas and will remain closed from January 1 to January 2 to ring in the New Year.
Announced on the St. Johns County's Facebook page, garbage, recycling, and yard waste services will not make their rounds on Thursday, December 25. Following the holiday, collections are set to be delayed by a day, starting on December 26, with the promise of having all routes completed swiftly by December 27.
The New Year also brings similar collection alterations; services will not occur on January 1. However, from January 2, operations will resume, albeit with a one-day postponement in collection, ensuring that the first week of 2025 retains the semblance of order with all routes due to be completed by January 3.
