St. Johns County is encouraging residents to recycle their Christmas trees. County officials announced on a social media post that real trees can be dropped off through the "Treecycling" program to be turned into mulch for local parks. The program aims to promote sustainability and reduce post-holiday waste.
The county emphasizes that all decorations must be removed from trees before they are brought to designated drop-off locations. The recycling program began from Friday to January 6, 2026 between 9 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. Drop-off sites include Ron Parker Park, Mills Field, Davis Park, and the Tillman Ridge and Stratton Rd. Transfer Stations. Residents should note that the transfer stations close earlier on Saturdays and are closed on Sundays.
The St. Johns County Parks and Recreation Main Office can be contacted at 904-209-0333 for residents seeking more information about the recycling program.
