St. Johns County has provided guidance for post-holiday waste. Residents should flatten cardboard for curbside recycling or take extra boxes to county drop-off locations, and "wrapping paper can be recycled if it is plain paper," while shiny, metallic, or glittery paper, along with bows and ribbons, should be thrown away, as reported by the St. Johns County.
Electronics should not be placed in the trash but taken to designated recycling locations. The Tillman Ridge and Stratton Road Transfer Stations accept items Monday through Friday, 7 am to 6 pm, and Saturday, 7 am to 1 pm, closing only on major holidays, as stated by the St. Johns County.
According to St. Johns County on their Facebook page, "A little sorting goes a long way. Thank you for recycling right this holiday season." The county shared locations and hours for cardboard recycling at both transfer stations and reminded residents to sort materials and recycle after the holidays.
