The City of St. Peters has announced its holiday schedule in anticipation of the upcoming New Year's festivities. As many prepare to roll into the year 2026, St. Peters City Hall, along with several other city entities, will be closing their doors in observance of New Year’s Day, the city shared via an online announcement.
Among those closing will be the Cultural Arts Centre, Municipal Court, Police Records, the Earth Centre, and Recycle City – this includes walk-in trash disposal, which will all be taking a day off on Thursday, Jan. 1, 2026. Meanwhile, if fitness before feasting is on your mind, the St. Peters Rec-Plex has got you covered, holding its ground until 2 p.m. on New Year’s Eve, Wednesday, Dec. 31. It reopens to welcome the New Year with its doors open from 7 a.m.-2 p.m. on Jan. 1, albeit with administrative offices remaining closed, according to City of St. Peters.
For last-minute waste disposal before the curtain call of 2025, Recycle City offices and the Earth Centre will maintain operations until 2 p.m. on New Year’s Eve. However, residents should take note that solid waste will not make its curbside appearance on New Year’s Day, prompting a shift in the regular pickup schedule which will be delayed a day for the remainder of the week.
For urgent animal-related issues that can’t wait, including pets in distress, Animal Control will maintain limited services during the New Year’s Day holiday. Residents are advised that for emergencies, after-hours calls, or holiday incidents, assistance is available through Police Dispatch at 636-278-2222.
