The St. Peters Police Department has carried the charitable spirit of No Shave November into the final month of the year, raising a noteworthy sum for children in need. In a recent social media dispatch, the department shared how their officers continued to forgo shaving to fundraise for the Toys for Tots program.
According to the St. Peters Police Department's Facebook post, the initiative was a success, bringing in over $1,600 in donations. This financial boost enabled the officers to purchase a variety of toys, ranging from Barbies and baby dolls to dinosaurs. The officers selected toys that spanned a broad spectrum of interests, ensuring that children of different ages and preferences would find joy in the holiday season. Even Lt. Thompson found humor amidst the toy selection, a sentiment shared with the community through the post.
The social media update included photos of the officers shopping for toys and a note of gratitude to Walmart Saint Peters for assisting with the "long transaction." The officers' efforts culminated in a surplus of gifts intended for children who might otherwise have little to open during the holidays, as per the St. Peters Police Department.
