
A St. Petersburg man has been taken into custody on charges related to the possession and dissemination of child pornography, according to the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office. In a case that spotlights the ongoing combat against digital sexual exploitation, detectives from the Crimes Against Children Unit (CAC) identified the suspect through an investigation spurred by tips about illicit content being circulated over the internet.
Cody Meader, 26, stands accused of possessing and intentionally choosing to spread indecent images of minors, some as young as two years old. The detectives announced that after employing investigative techniques, they were able to trace the digital trail back to Meader. Following his arrest yesterday, December 18, the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office detailed the charges, citing 10 counts of possession and 11 counts of transmission of child pornography.
Further investigation into the case is ongoing as officials continue to analyse the full scope of the suspect's online activities. The arrest record indicates that Meader, born on January 14, 1999, resides at 6299 31st Street North, Unit A, in St. Petersburg. He is currently being held at the Pinellas County Jail, where he awaits legal proceedings relating to the serious allegations against him.
