On Christmas Eve, Statesville Fire Department responded to a brush and grass fire in the Hidden Lakes neighborhood. Battalion 1, Engine 1, and the Brush Truck were dispatched to the scene. According to a department social media post, the crews quickly extinguished the fire, preventing significant damage.
The department’s post noted both the quick response and a lighthearted moment afterward. A child dressed as an "elf" joined Firefighter Harrison, hose in hand, adding a festive touch to the scene. “After the fire was out, we found a very special little helper elf ready to jump in and help alongside Firefighter Harrison, hose in hand and all smiles,” the department shared in a Facebook post.
In a Facebook post, the department expressed gratitude for the community’s support, stating, "Nothing like a little Christmas Eve love and support for our firefighters." They also added, "Thank you for supporting the Statesville Fire Department – today and every day," acknowledging both the teamwork within the department and the community they serve.
