Frisco’s coffee game is about to get a little more crowded. Black Rock Coffee Bar is lining up a new shop at 7030 Stonebrook Parkway, Suite 200, with interior work expected to kick off in late January and wrap sometime in the spring. Paperwork for the project pegs the buildout at just over 2,000 square feet, pointing to a likely late spring or early summer opening. When it flips the lights on, the Stonebrook spot will join Black Rock’s growing lineup across the Dallas–Fort Worth area.

The timeline and square footage come from state filings and local reports. According to WhatNow, interior work is slated to begin on Jan. 29, 2026, with the 2,107-square-foot build projected to finish by April 20, 2026. Those dates appear in paperwork filed with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation, which signals a full developer-led buildout rather than a quick paint-and-go refresh. If that schedule holds, Stonebrook regulars could be grabbing Black Rock drinks before summer heat really sets in.

The company’s growth story starts far from Frisco. Black Rock began as a 160-square-foot drive-thru stand in Beaverton, Oregon, and has been expanding steadily since 2008, according to the company’s SEC filing. That document lays out a drive-thru-first strategy and a focused push into Sun Belt markets, with Texas getting a noticeable share of the recent action.

On the menu side, Black Rock mixes espresso drinks and specialty coffee with a slate of non-coffee options, including matcha and chai, lemonade, hot cocoa, shakes and smoothies. The chain advertises breakfast all day on its site. Black Rock Coffee also leans on seasonal chillers and limited-time drinks, a tactic it often uses when rolling out new locations.

Where It Will Sit

The planned café will land inside The Heights at Frisco complex at 7030 Stonebrook Parkway, a commercial site that already hosts a mix of medical and retail tenants. A commercial listing for the address lays out the building and lot details, and LoopNet lists the property’s parcel information.

In the same complex, an emergency veterinary hospital identifies its space as Suite 100 at that address, according to MedVet Frisco. The Black Rock paperwork, by contrast, calls out Suite 200 for roughly 2,107 square feet, setting up the coffee bar as one more stop in a growing mixed-use cluster.

What It Means For Frisco

Black Rock has already tested the waters in Frisco. The company opened a location at 155 Old Newman Way in September 2024 and promoted free 16-ounce drinks for its grand opening, according to a company press release. That launch, along with other recent Texas announcements, suggests the brand views Frisco as a key piece of its growth map.

The Stonebrook outpost will drop into an already busy coffee landscape that includes both independent cafés and national chains along FM 423 and Preston Road. More options can be good news for caffeine loyalists, even if it makes breakfast-run decisions a little tougher.

For now, Black Rock has not publicly set a grand opening date for the Stonebrook shop. The construction schedule in public filings is the clearest hint that residents should expect doors to open sometime in late spring. Once the company locks in its plans and local permits move forward, an official announcement should not be far behind.
