On Friday, a routine traffic stop in the 16800 block of Ramsay Cascades Drive turned into a vehicular pursuit, ending with the arrest of suspected drunk driver Ferron Rushion after he failed to yield and parked in a residential driveway. Deputies observed signs of intoxication and conducted Standardized Field Sobriety Tests, confirming Rushion was under the influence and noting he had a prior DWI conviction, as reported by the Harris County Constable Precinct 4.
During the investigation, a deputy was exposed to a white powdery substance inside Rushion’s vehicle, causing multiple episodes of unconsciousness. Fellow deputies administered several doses of Narcan to counteract the effects and stabilize the deputy, as stated by the Harris County Constable Precinct 4.
A deputy was taken to a local hospital by EMS and is in stable condition after an incident. According to the Harris County Constable Precinct 4 on their Facebook page, "Ferron Rushion was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail, charged with Evading Arrest in a Motor Vehicle and Driving While Intoxicated. His total bond was set at $5,100.00 out of the 248th District Court and County Court 14. Additional charges pending lab results." The substance that affected the deputy is still under lab analysis.
