The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department reported that a 29-year-old man, Jeffrey Diedenhofen, was hit and killed by a 2016 BMW X5 on May 30 at West Flamingo Road and South Las Vegas Boulevard. The collision, captured by witnesses and surveillance video, marked the 70th traffic-related fatality in the area for 2025, according to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.
Authorities later identified and arrested the driver, 37-year-old Stephon Watkins of Sacramento, who now faces Hit and Run and Reckless Driving charges. The passenger, 42-year-old Rodney Feemster, was also identified, though officials did not report whether either occupant was injured, as stated by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.
The Hoodline reported that an abandoned BMW was found east of the crash site. Emergency responders could not revive Diedenhofen, and he was pronounced dead at the scene. The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department is investigating and asks anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers, where anonymous tips may qualify for a cash reward if they lead to a felony arrest or indictment.
