The San Antonio Police Department has taken Michael Allen Loving, a 38-year-old man with a substantial history of criminal activity, back into custody concerning several robberies at jewelry stores and pawn shops across the city. As reported by KSAT 12 News, Camelia Juarez, a public information officer with SAPD, stated that Loving is suspected of being involved in "dozens" of robberies and currently holds 10 felony warrants. His unconventional approach has been described as simply walking out of the stores with the jewelry after asking to try on items.
Last month, Loving gained notoriety for a peculiar arrest, where he was apprehended in an unclothed state after allegedly hitting a man with his car post-robbery and then fleeing on foot. The same individual, whose criminal record consists of 37 arrests, has been linked to robberies at the Shops at La Cantera and South Park Mall, among others. Fox San Antonio details further that after his previous arrest, he managed to post bond, remove his ankle monitor, and resume his criminal activities almost immediately.
Loving has faced various charges, including two robbery charges, two aggravated robberies, three thefts over $30,000, and one theft over $150,000. Investigators found him with tools typically used in smash-and-grab robberies, such as a sledgehammer and a rock. His crime spree even included a threat with a gun during a robbery at an EZ Pawn store, escalating the intensity and danger of his thefts.
Authorities suspect that Loving's robberies extend beyond the reported incidents.
