The eight key characteristics outlined as markers of a quality job range from inclusivity and fair wages to safety and opportunities for career growth; however, the city council's resolution has not immediately set these standards in stone, but instead as guidelines for future policy development and economic analysis.
This pioneering framework, which came out of the city’s participation in the Good Jobs, Great Cities Academy, a collaboration between the National League of Cities and the U.S. Department of Labor, embodies aspirations that are shared by workers and employers alike.
