
Tragedy struck on a Tacoma street earlier this week when a 14-year-old was fatally shot, an incident that now has turned into a homicide investigation. According to the City of Tacoma’s official news release, Tacoma Police were called to the scene at the 6400 block of McKinley Avenue last Friday, following reports of a car crash at about 3:00 p.m., shortly thereafter they discovered the shooting victim among the wreckage.
The victim, who has not been publicly identified, received immediate attention from officers and was quickly transported to a local hospital by the Tacoma Fire Department. Unfortunately, the young life was claimed by gunshot injuries. In the aftermath, an adult male has turned himself in to the Tacoma Police in connection with the shooting. He has been arrested and charged with first-degree murder.
The investigation is ongoing, as detectives and crime scene technicians continue to piece together the circumstances that led to this moment of irreversible consequence. Officials have yet to release further details about the motive or the events that precipitated the fatal incident.
