The Tampa Police Department is reminding residents to protect their holiday gifts from theft. In a recent Tampa Police Department's Post, officers advised: "Got something nice for the holidays? Don’t put it on display for everyone to see."
TPD highlighted that empty boxes, especially from expensive items, can signal potential burglars. To reduce risk, they recommend breaking down boxes, bagging them, and disposing of them in the trash or recycling bins before collection.
The department emphasized that these simple steps can make a significant difference in preventing post-holiday thefts and encouraged residents to remain vigilant about their surroundings during the festive season.
