The Metropolitan Police Department has recently taken into custody a juvenile in connection with a robbery in the Northwest area, an incident that left a resident bereft of their belongings. The robbery, as reported, occurred on Friday, November 14, a morning marked by a bracing chill and the shuffle of commuters around the 1000 block of North Capitol Street, Northwest. A young male, just entering his teenage years, is said to have suddenly accosted the victim in broad daylight, swiftly usurping their property and dashing away from the scene. This narrative comes from an arrest announcement posted on MPD's official website.
Following a swift investigation, police managed to quickly identify and, pursuant to a DC Superior Court custody order, apprehend the 13-year-old suspect more than a week later, last Wednesday. Despite his youth, he was formally arrested and has been charged with robbery. Details surrounding the arrest were sparse.
According to the announcement by the Metropolitan Police Department, the case remains under investigation, and potential witnesses or individuals with knowledge pertaining to the robbery are encouraged to come forward with any helpful information.
