
A teenager fell victim to a violent robbery on MacArthur Boulevard in Northwest, in an incident that has prompted the Metropolitan Police Department to seek help from the public. On the evening of Wednesday, the young person was on the 4500 block when they were set upon by several individuals, who assaulted them and made off with their shoes, the MPD disclosed.
The crime was reported to have taken place at around 8:45 p.m., and four of the suspects were caught on a nearby surveillance camera. The footage, has been released in an effort to identify those responsible.
In a quest to apprehend the culprits, the MPD has issued a call for assistance. "Anyone who can identify these suspects or who has knowledge of this incident should take no action but call police at (202) 727-9099 or text your tip to the Department's TEXT TIP LINE at 50411," the department stated in a release on their website. The police are also offering up to a $1,000 reward for information leading to an arrest and indictment, which marks their commitment to solving this case and addressing the broader issues of street crime.
