Early this morning, a vehicle collided with the front of a barbershop located in South Connellsville, causing a stir in Fayette County. As reported by WTAE, the crash, which occurred just before 4:30 a.m. on the 1600 block of South Pittsburgh Street, resulted in visible structural damage, though initial reports indicated no one was trapped inside the vehicle or the building.
John Prah, the 83-year-old owner of the barbershop that has been in operation for 21 years he and his wife received a rude awakening when the vehicle struck, shaking their residence, which shares the same structure as their commercial space, TribLive reported. "We were in bed, and it shook the whole house — woke us up," Prah recounted the incident, demonstrating the force of impact and its effects on the couple.
It was conveyed that while the reason behind the vehicle's crash remains unclear, there were no immediate reports concerning the driver's condition or any injuries, as per Fayette County 911 dispatch. The unfortunate incident has compelled Prah to temporarily close his doors, as he will be unable to serve his customers for several weeks due to extensive damage incurred, which includes the replacement of the roof.
