Contractors working for the North Carolina Department of Transportation have closed one lane of Interstate 440 near the Hillsborough Street exit to complete paving work. The lane closure is in place to allow crews to safely carry out roadway improvements in the area.
According to NCDOT, the paving work is scheduled to be completed by 4 p.m. today. Once the work is finished, the closed lane is expected to reopen to traffic. The department reports that traffic impacts are expected to be low; however, drivers may still experience minor delays.
Motorists are advised to use caution, reduce speeds, and remain alert while traveling through the work zone.
