A Warren man, Dominick Robinson, 30, was charged with first-degree premeditated murder after a fatal stabbing at a local residence. The charge, which can result in life in prison without parole, was announced after Robinson’s arraignment in the 37th District Court on Monday. He is accused of stabbing a man multiple times last Friday before staying inside his home, leading to a standoff with a Special Response Team, as per ClickOnDetroit.
Last Friday, Warren police were called to a residence early in the morning and found a victim's body through a window. After several hours of negotiation, which were live-streamed on Facebook, Robinson surrendered. The live stream showed Robinson with a knife and making statements while apparently intoxicated, as reported by Audacy.
Macomb County Prosecutor Peter J. Lucido said, "Premeditated murder is among the most serious crimes recognized by the law. My office is committed to pursuing justice and seeking accountability for the victim and the victim's family, who have suffered an unimaginable loss," as mentioned by CBS News Detroit. Robinson’s bond was set at $2 million cash with no 10% option, and a mental health evaluation was ordered. If he posts bond, he must wear a steel-cuff tether. The motive for the stabbing and the victim’s name have not been released. A probable cause conference is scheduled for December 23, and a preliminary examination will be held on December 30.
