
A tragic incident occurred in Sterling Heights on Saturday night, when a 30-year-old woman from Warren lost her life after her vehicle collided with a semi truck. As reported by ClickOnDetroit, the crash took place around 11:45 p.m. near Mound Road and Sterling Drive South. The woman was driving a Chevrolet Malibu at the time of the crash.
According to the initial investigation, the Chevrolet Malibu was traveling northbound on Mound Road and struck the rear of a semi truck that had been stopped at a red light. Despite the efforts to quickly provide medical assistance, the woman was pronounced dead from her injuries, as noted by FOX 2 Detroit. The driver of the semi-truck remained uninjured.
The Sterling Heights Police Department has continued to actively investigate the cause of the collision. While details are still unfolding, the police have not yet released the identity of the woman who died.
Authorities are now reaching out to the public for assistance. "Anyone who may have witnessed this crash is asked to call Officer Elliot with the Traffic Safety Bureau at (586)446-2920 with any information," stated a report obtained by WXYZ.
