The Metropolitan Police Department of Washington, DC has reported a series of arrests tied to recent unlawful auto activities in the city. Details were made public in a release posted today, providing the names and charges for individuals apprehended during a period spanning from December 19 through December 24.
Among the incidents, 39-year-old Jamal Jackson was arrested for Theft One (Stolen Auto) after an incident on the 2700 block of Martin Luther King Jr Ave, SE. The MPD release, which detailed the offenses and provided the addresses of the accused, highlighted cases involving vehicle-related crimes. Jackson, listed as having no fixed address, became a subject of law enforcement's eye on Friday, December 19.
Two days later, on Sunday, another 39-year-old man, Derrik Montgomery of Northeast, DC, was apprehended for Unauthorized Use of a Vehicle after an occurrence on the 3400 block of 25th St, SE. The series of arrests showcased in the release suggests a crackdown on auto-related crimes in the capital, with MPD officers acting on reports of unauthorized vehicle use and theft.
Finally, on Wednesday, Tashima Barnes, a 42-year-old from Northwest, DC, was also detained on charges of Unauthorized Use of a Vehicle. The allegations stem from activities on the 3900 block of Kansas Ave, NW.
