As part of the SB 5189 (2025) requirements, the focus of MBL is to allow students to quickly learn and thoroughly, advancing only after they have demonstrated a clear understanding of the material. Launched back in 2021, the MBLC initiative aimed to provide a platform to pilot these principles in real-world classrooms. Spanning four years and involving nearly fifty schools, the project didn't just strive to showcase the principles of MBL but also to serve as a crucible from which best practices could be forged, shared, and replicated.
