The Washington State Patrol has issued a call for witnesses following a tragic incident that occurred earlier this week on Interstate 182 in Richland. On Monday evening, at around 5:35 pm, authorities discovered the body of a 47-year-old man by the westbound lane, near milepost 2.

According to State Patrol, the man is believed to have fallen from the Keene Rd overpass onto the interstate below. Arriving on the scene, troopers, along with the Richland Police and Fire Departments, confirmed the man had died as rush hour went on around him.

In light of this incident, WSP detectives are actively searching for any potential witnesses. They are interested in accounts from individuals who may have seen the man on the Keene Rd overpass or noted any vehicles that had stopped on I-182 before the police arrived.

WSP has provided contact details for Detective James Stairet for those who might have valuable information regarding the case. Detective Stairet, lingering with difficult questions and the weight of uncovering a narrative that has yet to be fully told, can be reached at (509) 378-2753 or via email at [email protected].
