Waukesha residents and visitors gearing up for the holiday festivities should note the important traffic updates for the upcoming Christmas Parade. According to a social media post by The City of Waukesha, the parade is scheduled to start at 4 pm on Sunday, December 7, and significant road closures will occur in preparation for the event.
As the city decks its streets with festive spirit, attendees will need to plan for parking and transit disruptions. No vehicles will be allowed to park along the roads in the closure area after 2 pm on the day of the parade. Furthermore, beginning at 3 pm, entry and exit from the event area will be restricted until the parade concludes. These measures are set to ensure a safe and orderly environment for the parade-goers and participants alike.
However, the city has made accommodations for those attending the parade. Free 2-hour parking will be available at certain locations to ease any inconvenience. Spectators can park at the Transit Center Parking Ramp, where the entrance is off Brook Street, and also at the South Street Parking Ramp, with entrances off of South Street and Wisconsin Avenue.
The City of Waukesha's announcement on Facebook also shared maps for the closure area, which can prove invaluable for navigating the city during this busy event. The maps are designed to help visitors plan their routes and find designated free parking areas, making it easier to enjoy the holiday festivities. Whether attending the parade or soaking in the seasonal cheer, following these guidelines will help ensure a smoother experience for everyone.
