Waukesha residents are reminded that tax season is approaching. The City of Waukesha announced on a Facebook post that tax bills will begin arriving in mailboxes early next week. Full payment or the first installment is due by January 31, 2026, with several payment options available for homeowners.
Residents can pay their taxes online by visiting https://tax.waukeshacounty.gov/ using eCheck, debit, or credit card, though fees may apply, according to the City of Waukesha. In-person payments are also accepted at Waukesha State Bank branches; homeowners should bring their tax bill or payment stub.
Residents can also pay by mail, sending their payment and stub to the Clerk/Treasurer's office at 201 Delafield St., Waukesha, WI 53188. Payments may also be dropped off at 24/7 drop boxes outside City Hall or at the Waukesha Public Library; these boxes accept only checks or money orders, not cash.
The Clerk’s office is open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., to accept cash, checks, or credit card payments (fees may apply). The office will be closed on December 24, 25, 31, and January 1, 2026. Residents should plan accordingly to ensure tax payments are made before the January 31, 2026, deadline.
