What started as a routine welfare check at an apartment complex on 5700 Remington Circle in Fort Worth turned grim yesterday, when officers forced their way inside and found a man and a woman dead in the living room. Both were pronounced dead at the scene.
According to The Dallas Morning News, the check was requested by the woman’s employer after co‑workers could not reach her when she failed to show up for work. The outlet reports that officials did not immediately identify the victims and that the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office will confirm both their identities and how they died.
Investigation details
Police said they are still piecing together what led to the gunfire but that the deaths appear to be a murder‑suicide. “All indications suggest this was an isolated incident, and there is no ongoing threat to the public,” the department stated, as reported by The Dallas Morning News.
