The City of West Allis is asking residents to support local businesses by tagging and sharing their favorites, especially ones that may be overlooked. Officials encourage people to shop local, grab a meal, or simply spread the word during a challenging time. To start the effort, the city shared a list of “Best of Milwaukee” winners based in West Allis, including Rogers Behavioral Health and Flour Girl & Flame, which was recognized in several food-related categories and for its inclusive approach.
The social media campaign highlights more than just restaurants and bars. It also recognizes local services and culture, like Cream City Clay for artists, West Allis Downtown BID for its Classic Car Show, and Healium Hot Yoga for wellness. West Allis has many popular local businesses. Favorites include Aggie’s Bakery for cupcakes, Grebe’s Bakery for hot ham and rolls, and Ope Brewing Co, a pet-friendly microbrewery. The Wisconsin State Fair is another highlight for family fun. West Allis Cheese & Sausage Shoppe and Twisted Plants add even more variety with cheese and vegan options.
