A 15-year-old has died from injuries suffered in a Canada Drive shooting earlier this month, the latest act of violence to rattle a busy stretch of West Dallas.
Dallas police say officers were called to a local hospital shortly after 5 a.m. on Dec. 6, where the teenager had been dropped off in a private vehicle. Investigators determined the teen had been shot in the 2500 block of Canada Drive, a corridor that cuts through the West Dallas and Trinity Groves area.
The teen died Saturday. No arrests have been made, and authorities have not publicly identified the victim.

According to a preliminary investigation reported by The Dallas Morning News, the shooting occurred in the 2500 block of Canada Drive. The Dallas Police Department is asking anyone with information to contact Detective J. Morgan at 214-425-9905 or [email protected].
Area has seen other high-profile violence this year
The same general area has already seen deadly gunfire in 2025. In February, a shootout near the Ron Kirk pedestrian bridge left two people dead and led to multiple arrests, according to FOX 4 Dallas-Fort Worth. At the time, residents told reporters they were shaken by recurring late-night gunfire around Trinity Groves and West Dallas.

Dallas police say detectives are actively working the case and following leads. Officials are urging anyone who may have seen or heard something around the time of the Dec. 6 shooting to contact the department or reach out directly to Detective Morgan.
