The Hawai‘i Police Department is hosting two Coffee With a Cop events in west Hawai‘i this month to connect with the community. These informal gatherings allow residents to meet district officers, share concerns, and chat over coffee. According to the department, there is no set agenda, so conversations can cover personal stories or community issues.
The Hawai‘i Police Department is hosting Coffee With a Cop events in West Hawai‘i to engage with the community. The first session is on Wednesday from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at Uncle Kimo’s Coffee Shop, followed by another on Friday at the same time at Kona Coffee & Tea in the Kona Coast Shopping Center.
Coffee With a Cop events offer a casual setting for residents to meet officers without the formality of official police business. “Stop by and get to know your district and Community Policing Officers over a cup of coffee!” says the Hawai‘i Police Department.
These events provide a space for conversation and help officers better understand community needs. The West Hawai‘i Community Policing division can be reached at (808) 326-4646, extensions 257, 258, or 259, for questions about the event or the Coffee With a Cop program.
