Early on Christmas Eve, an attempted robbery involving a stolen SUV and an ATM shook the White Settlement community. The White Settlement Police Department reported that two male suspects, using a metal cable, attempted to dislodge the ATM from its resting spot in the 2000 block of S. Cherry Lane. The incident occurred at approximately 3:44 am, causing substantial damage to the storefront, including shattered glass and a broken door.
According to a social media post by the police department, the suspects were unsuccessful, as the ATM was detached from the cable during their escape and left behind on the service road of I.H. 30. Police officers responded promptly, utilizing camera technologies and license plate readers to pursue the suspects who had abandoned the stolen vehicle in Fort Worth, shortly after the foiled theft.
The two unidentified individuals were last seen wearing black hooded sweatshirts, black pants, and orange gloves. Facial masks concealed their identities, and their footwear choices, one with white sneakers, the other with black tennis shoes, offered little in the way of further descriptors.
