A Winter Haven bar turned chaotic early Wednesday morning when a man was seriously injured in a stabbing incident. According to the Polk County Sheriff's Office, the suspect, identified as 33-year-old Tylor Scott Hartzog, also from Winter Haven, has been apprehended and faces severe charges including Attempted 2nd Degree Murder with a Weapon and Improper Exhibition of a Dangerous Weapon.

Responding to reports of the stabbing at the Tuff Luck Saloon located at 2390 Avenue G NW around 1:00 am, deputies discovered the victim with multiple lacerations and a broken nose, bleeding profusely. The bar at the time, were in the midst of an otherwise regular night until the violence broke out. Hartzog was arrested at the scene without incident and a Ka-Bar style military knife with an 8" blade, reported to have been used in the attack, was seized by the deputies.

While Hartzog claimed his actions were self-defense, the evidence collected painted a different story. The statements from witnesses and the physical evidence led detectives away from Hartzog’s claim of self-defense. As per officials, the collected evidence suggested his actions were of a criminal nature, clearly violating lawful conduct.

The victim, whose identity has not been disclosed, was swiftly attended to for his injuries. The extent of trauma, with the lacerations carved onto the man's body that were attended to by the arriving deputies, signal the severity of the attack. The Sheriff's Office has not released further details on the victim's condition.

The investigation is ongoing, and Hartzog is currently being held at the Sheriff's Processing Center. The charges brought against him are substantial and include one count of Attempted 2nd Degree Murder with a Weapon—a first-degree felony, and one count of Improper Exhibition of a Dangerous Weapon—a misdemeanor.
