
This morning, a tragic incident unfolded on the North Freeway with the death of a woman following a multi-car crash. According to FOX 26 Houston, the crash occurred around 2:30 a.m. near the 14500 block of the North Freeway, adjacent to the Lone Star RV dealership. It was reported that an adult female, whose identity has yet to be disclosed, was rear-ended while driving a Honda Fit with a flat tire.
The impact of the collision sent her vehicle into two other cars, a Toyota Camry and a Mercedes-Benz, before coming to a halt. The Jeep Wrangler that hit the Honda subsequently overturned onto its side. Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez confirmed the woman died at the scene, as was to further reported by KHOU. He further stated that the 18-year-old driver of the Jeep, along with the drivers of the Camry and the Mercedes, both aged 34, were not injured in the accident. No signs of intoxication were found in any of the surviving drivers,
Sheriff Gonzalez noted.
The investigation is ongoing as officials work to piece together the sequence of events that led up to the fatal incident. The freeway remained partially closed for hours while the Harris County Sheriff’s Office Vehicular Crimes Division processed the scene, as reported by FOX 26 Houston.
