An 18-year-old man, identified as Patrick Bouvier Williams III, is facing an attempted second-degree murder charge with a firearm after allegedly shooting a 17-year-old boy, who is said to have been a childhood friend. The incident occurred on New Year's Day in Orange County, as reported by ClickOrlando. The victim reportedly refused to enter a vehicle with Williams and several unidentified individuals, an action that seemingly precipitated the violent response.
The Orange County Sheriff's Office deputies responded to the 6800 block of Westlake Boulevard, where the shooting was reported to have taken place. The victim was quickly taken to a hospital with a gunshot wound. In a troubling recounting of the events, the affidavit details how the young teen was targeted as he ran away, with Williams allegedly firing 17 times toward the fleeing teen and another person. Thankfully, only the teen's leg was struck, according to ClickOrlando.
Adding to the narrative, information obtained by WESH described a harrowing scene as the victim recounted hearing bullets whizzing past his head and the intense fear for his life during the terrifying ordeal. The victim was later transported to Advent Health Apopka, where detectives interviewed him. The victim described a planned meetup with Williams, who visited from Tallahassee, that went awry when Williams asked the victim and another friend to get into the car with people the victim didn't recognize, a request the victim denied, leading to the violent outcome.
