In the early hours yesterday, January 1, Amarillo Police Department (APD) officers responded to a shooting on Westwind Avenue. The girl, who had been shot inside a vehicle, was quickly taken to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries, but later succumbed to those injuries, reported News Channel 10.
The APD Homicide Unit is actively investigating the case. Jeremiah Luke Matthews and Korde Matthews, both 17 years of age, have been booked into Potter County Jail on charges related to the incident.
