The City of Apple Valley is calling on its residents to voice their opinions on proposed changes to local liquor laws. A public hearing has been scheduled by the Planning Commission for Wednesday, February 4, with the aim of discussing amendments to the city's zoning ordinance concerning alcohol sales, as reported by the City of Apple Valley.
Specifically, the proposed changes involve the removal of on-sale wine and 3.2% malt liquor options from the list of permitted uses in the Retail Business district. Moreover, on-sale liquor will be shifted from the list of conditional uses to a less accessible category. This meeting will take place at the Municipal Center located at 7100 W. 147th Street, starting at 7:00 p.m., or soon thereafter as the situation allows, as per the City of Apple Valley.
Citizens who have a stake in the local alcohol sales guidelines or those simply concerned with community standards will have the opportunity to be heard. The process was initiated, according to a notice published by the City of Apple Valley, "by action of the City of Apple Valley."
