An Arizona man is facing serious charges after allegedly stealing iPhones from a Naperville Apple Store, authorities say. According to a Facebook post by the DuPage County State's Attorney's Office, Khyree Mosley, 24, of Chandler, Arizona, was charged with one count of Burglary, one count of Retail Theft, and one count of Misdemeanor Fleeing or Attempting to Elude a Police Officer.
DuPage County State’s Attorney Robert Berlin and Naperville Chief of Police Jason Arres reported that Mosley allegedly entered the Apple Store on January 1, 2026, and selected three iPhone 17 Pro Max 1TB phones, leaving without paying for them. Mosley is accused of having then fled in a vehicle, ignoring police signals to stop, which soon became a pursuit involving a Naperville police officer. It was only later in the evening that Minooka Police Department officers were able to apprehend him.
In the statement obtained by the DuPage County State's Attorney's Office, Berlin emphasized the impact of retail theft, saying, "Burglary and retail theft are not victimless crimes. We all bear the cost in the form of higher prices, lost revenue and wages, reduced local economic investment and a lost sense of security." He thanked the Naperville Police Department and Assistant State’s Attorney Kevin Kosman for their diligent work on the case.
Chief Arres added to the narrative of deterrence, stating, "Our message is simple: if you commit crimes in Naperville, you will be held accountable," underscoring the collaboration between law enforcement agencies in addressing retail crime. The Chief also made sure to publicly thank the Minooka Police Department and State's Attorney Bob Berlin for their part in the arrest and the subsequent charging of Mosley.
Khyree Mosley has been released on his own recognizance and is scheduled to appear before Judge Margaret O’Connell on February 11, 2026.
