Tragedy befell an Ashland neighborhood on New Year's Day as 61-year-old John Grehn was found shot to death in a residence on East Liberty Street. In a report by WKYC, authorities responded to a 911 call just after 2 p.m. Thursday. They discovered Grehn's body within the home, leading to the arrest of 24-year-old Robert Palermo, who was present at the crime scene.
According to details obtained by FOX8, Palermo is held at the Ashland County Jail as they await review by the county prosecutor's office. The police investigation, carried due to the shooting, included the collection of evidence from the location where the incident occurred. A dog found in the home was also reported to be unharmed, now under the care of the Ashland County Humane Society.
