Baltimore County police were called to an attempted commercial robbery at a recycling facility early this morning, which led to a police chase and a subsequent vehicle crash in Baltimore City. The initial response came shortly before 3 a.m. when officers arrived at the 8900 block of Yellow Brick Road in Rosedale, encountering two individuals who quickly fled in a rental truck, as reported by WBAL-TV.
The suspects managed to initially elude officers by driving down a one-way street, forcing the police to halt their pursuit. However, officers later discovered the same rental truck was involved in a collision at North Curley Street near East Fayette Street, a few blocks north of Patterson. According to FOX Baltimore, the crash pushed a blue Hyundai against a corner row home, occurring around 2:58 a.m.
Joy Lepola, a public information officer for Baltimore County, informed FOX Baltimore that the two occupants of the Hyundai did not sustain life-threatening injuries but are believed to have been taken to the hospital. The two suspects in the rental truck fled the crash site and remain at large.
Baltimore City police will be handling the crash investigation, where a police crash team has been seen on the scene.
