An afternoon walk in Auburn turned frightening on Tuesday when a grandmother in her 60s and her roughly 10-month-old grandchild were struck by a pickup truck and rushed to the hospital, according to CBS Sacramento.
Emergency crews said the woman was pushing a stroller along High Street just before 4 p.m. when a pickup truck turned onto Cleveland Avenue and hit them. Auburn police reported that the driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with officers, and officials said he is not suspected of driving under the influence or other criminal activity.
