A new tea lounge has opened at the corner of Sunrise Boulevard and Douglas Road in Rancho Cordova, pouring everything from bubble tea and matcha to a formal British tea service featuring more than a century-old London tea house's blends. Juneberry Tea Lounge has set up shop at 4036 Sunrise Blvd. inside Sunridge Plaza, the shopping center anchored by Raley's, offering both quick to-go milk tea drinks and sit-down service meant for lingering.
According to the Sacramento Bee, Juneberry specializes in boba, matcha and Fortnum & Mason teas, and describes itself as the perfect place for “slow sips, soft conversations, and crafted drinks.” The cafe's traditional tea service comes with snacks and cookies, and pulls from the Fortnum & Mason lineup, a British line of loose-leaf and bagged teas that includes more than 100 blends, among them classic Earl Grey, Royal Blend and Rooibos, per the same report.
A Storied British Tea House Meets Suburban Sacramento
Fortnum & Mason was first founded in Piccadilly in 1707, according to the company's history, giving Juneberry's formal tea menu a historical pedigree not typically found in suburban Sacramento County retail centers. The brand's broader company history, as detailed by Fortnum & Mason, traces its roots to 1707 in Piccadilly, London, when former royal footman William Fortnum partnered with Hugh Mason, with Fortnum reportedly raising his initial capital by selling unused candles from Queen Anne's royal household.
Alongside the English tea service, Juneberry's menu leans heavily into Asian tea traditions. The lounge's offerings include a crème brûlée tea made from Okinawa milk tea, a pink sakura cherry blossom tea, and a strawberry matcha, the Bee reports, with homemade horchata and halo-halo planned for release. The global bubble tea market was valued at roughly $3.3 billion in 2025 and is forecasted to reach $8.3 billion by 2033, with North America holding over 35% of global revenue last year, according to Grand View Research. Sunridge Plaza itself is an 87,815-square-foot shopping center, according to LoopNet listings, with tenants including Starbucks, Chase Bank, The UPS Store, Pacific Dental and Great Clips rounding out the daily foot traffic around Juneberry's storefront. The Sunridge Specific Plan is a roughly 2,600-acre plan that includes commercial land, according to the City of Rancho Cordova Planning Division.
That buildout reflects the city's rapid population growth. Rancho Cordova's total population topped 85,000 by 2025 after growing 3.2% in a single year, per the City of Rancho Cordova. Juneberry Tea Lounge is open Monday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Friday through Sunday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., according to the Bee's report. Beyond the formal tea service, the cafe sells to-go milk tea drinks and freshly brewed lighter beverages for those looking for a quicker stop inside the Raley's-anchored plaza.
