
The Austin community is reeling from the recent homicide investigation following the shooting death of 23-year-old Cam Ron Perkins. On the evening of January 11, Austin Police Department officers rushed to the site of reported gunshots at 9616 North Lamar Boulevard, as disclosed in a recent press release.
Upon arrival, officers discovered Perkins with fatal injuries. Despite efforts, he was pronounced dead at the scene at 8:15 p.m., and his death has since been marked as Austin's fourth homicide this year, as reported by the City of Austin. The ongoing investigation, led by homicide detectives and crime scene specialists, has uncovered that the shooter reportedly fled in a black Dodge Charger or Challenger, leaving behind more questions than answers.
Authorities are reaching out to the public for support, urging anyone with information to step forward. Tips can be directly submitted through the Austin Police Department website or anonymously via the Capital Area Crime Stoppers Program, where a reward of up to $1,000 may be granted for information leading to an arrest.
