
The Austin Police Department is currently on the lookout for a suspect tied to an aggravated robbery that took place last year at a local gas station. The robbery occurred at the Valero on Airport Boulevard, where an elderly person was reportedly assaulted and robbed, according to an APD report. The incident unfolded in the evening of June 13, 2025, at around 8:55 p.m.
Officials described the suspect as a white or Hispanic male, somewhere between 30 and 40 years of age, with a heavy build. He was last spotted wearing a white Aeropostale t-shirt, dark jeans, tan shoes, and notably, a black Canelo boxing bear hat. The image of the suspect, taken from surveillance footage during the robbery, has been circulated in hopes that community members will recognize the individual and come forward with any information they may have.
The Austin Police are not only leaning on the community for assistance, but they are also offering a financial incentive. The Capital Area Crime Stoppers Program has announced it may provide a reward of up to $1,000 for details that lead to the arrest of the accused assailant. This initiative aims to encourage locals to openly share any pertinent information that could help in apprehending the suspect, who, after pilfering lawn care equipment from the victim's truck, proceeded to punch the victim multiple times, "stole lawn care equipment from the victim’s truck, and then punched the victim multiple times," as stated in the official release.
