Firefighters from Baker County Fire Rescue’s Station 50 partnered with the American Red Cross over the recent holiday weekend to conduct home safety visits. During the initiative, crews installed free smoke detectors, provided fire escape planning information, and identified potential fire hazards to help improve household safety.

The outreach resulted in improved fire safety for seven homes and 11 residents. “After canvassing roughly 60 homes, we made 7 homes safer, impacting 11 individuals. Now they have greater protection from home fires,” Baker County Fire Rescue shared in a Facebook post.

In a Facebook post, the American Red Cross expressed gratitude for the firefighters and volunteers, stating, “Your service truly saves lives, and this impact would not be possible without you.”
