The Maryland Office of the Attorney General's Independent Investigations Division (IID) has released the names of those involved in a recent fatal police shooting in Baltimore, as reported on the office's website. The deceased individual was identified as Jamarl Muse, a 40-year-old resident of Baltimore.
Involved in the incident were Sergeant Carlos Arias and Officer Edwin Ruiz of the Baltimore City Police Department. Arias, a 15-year veteran, and Ruiz, with three years on the force, both serve in the Operations Bureau. The shooting, which took place on Tuesday, is still under investigation, and the IID is reaching out to the public for additional information.
