A routine Friday at a Houston apartment complex turned grim when a 40-year-old man was found dead inside a vehicle in the parking lot at 9301 Dairy View Lane. Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced the man dead at the scene, and officers reported no obvious signs of trauma. Investigators have identified the victim and say an autopsy is pending.
According to a City of Houston statement, HPD Homicide Detectives J. Smith, V. Villarreal and D. Toledo responded to a person-down call at about 4:30 p.m. and found an unresponsive man inside a vehicle. Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene, and the incident was logged under HPD case number 000674626.

Complex Has A History Of Serious Incidents
HPD records show the 9301 Dairy View Lane complex has been the scene of previous deadly incidents, including a fatal shooting there in October 2023, according to a Houston Police Department release. In that earlier case, officers found a man in the parking lot who had suffered at least one gunshot wound.
