The City and County of Broomfield is currently making headlines as the crowning jewel of the West, snagging the #1 spot on Livability.com's list for the Best Place to Live. With more than 2,000 cities in the Western United States taken under consideration, Broomfield's rise to the top echoes a narrative of persistent excellence that has now been nationally recognized. According to the City and County of Broomfield, this prestigious accolade stems from an analysis based on hard data evaluating factors like housing, education, health care, and economic stability.
But Broomfield's economic muscle didn't flex by chance; home to heavy-hitters like Ball Aerospace, Noodles & Company, and Mrs. Fields, it's the type of robust job market that many municipalities dream of. Livability's findings also highlighted Broomfield's plethora of public amenities, boasting over 700 acres of developed parks and more than 281 miles of trails, setting the bar high for recreational and community spots. Residents not only have the privilege of enjoying the Paul Derda Recreation Center, Broomfield Community Center, and the Bay Aquatic Park, but they also bask in a living experience poised between Denver and Boulder, which stitches together the suburban texture with urban flair.
This isn't Broomfield's first dance with praise and honor. On its victory lap, the city has already clinched the title of National Champion for the Polco Best in Governance Award back in December 2025, being recognized for its stellar economy. These achievements only add more sheen to an already glowing legacy of accolades, including being a multi-year recipient of the Distinguished Performance Award and the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting for over three decades, pointing toward a pattern of exemplary governance and financial stewardship.
